About the Workshop
Gillian Carew studied fashion at the Limerick School of Art and Design. She later moved to London where she progressed to becoming Head Taillor and Cutter at Angel's The Costumiers. Working at Angels, Gillian gained an enormous amount of invaluable experience on a wide variety of costumes for film, television and theatre. In 2010, she moved back to Dublin where she works from her own studio as a freelance pattern cutter and tailor for the Film and Television Industry. Gillian also works as a costume technical lecturer at IADT in the department of Design for Stage and Screen.
This in depth workshop will involve drafting a pattern using your own measurements, cutting out the trousers from the pattern and constructing the trousers including details such as zipfly and pockets (if time allows). The workshop is aimed at people who have some good sewing skills and the goa…
