About the Workshop
Bríd Higgins Ní Chinnéide. Portraiture in Oils.
This is a weekend course in which students will explore painting portraits from life in oil paints. The course will be suitable for all levels, but will best suit students with some experience of using oil paints.
Over the course of the weekend, students will learn about composition, basic anatomy, colour mixing and observation from life. Each student will have completed a portrait from a live model by the end of the course. Students with more experience of painting from life will have the opportunity to paint bigger, or to make more than one painting.
The tutor will give live painting demonstrations and will advise each student individually throughout the weekend.
